For clients, family members and the public, current hepatitis C information is vital. Counseling available in both English and Spanish.

         Benefits Counseling

Insurance and benefit programs counseling for programs such as SSI, SSDI, Medi-Cal, Medicare, and private insurance.

          Financial Assistance

Assistance is available to SLO Hep C Project's clients from grant funds for:

  • Counseling

  • Nutritional Counseling

  • Medical Exams

  • Lab tests (including liver biopsy)

  • Food Pantry

        Volunteer Services

SLO Hep C Project provides practical assistance for clients, such as transportation to appointments, housekeeping, meal preparation or food delivery and companionship.

          Informational Forums

At least six times a year, SLO Hep C Project provides informational forums for clients and interested community members. Topics include treatment issues, nutrition, psycho-social issues, benefits information, personal budgeting, etc.

The San Luis Obispo County AIDS Support Network and its project partners for the new San Luis Obispo County Hepatitis C Project (SLO Hep C Project) have received a three year, $537,137 grant to help the county’s residents at-risk for or living with hepatitis C (HCV). Funds from the grant will be used to provide coordinated and targeted outreach, epidemiological research data, prevention education, medical referrals and support services. The SLO Hep C Project is a multi-agency collaborative effort whose partners include the SLO County Public Health Department, SLO County Drug and Alcohol Services, Planned Parenthood, SLO Veterans Association, North County Connection, the Economic Opportunity Commission, as well as members of the SLO County Hepatitis C Task Force. The grant was provided by The California Endowment, the state’s largest health foundation.

A community wide action organization providing a variety of human services including health services, sheltering for the homeless and coordination of services county wide. Also provides education on HIV/AIDS. Spanish is spoken at all locations:
